Since finally bringing my project theme to a definite direction, I began to look at artists/inspirations that reflected and linked to my own work. My work is about the meaning of being broken and how colour can be hide the true nature of a painting. Since working with portraits I have researched into bright colours and patterns within them, Chris Ofili also has this kind of style in his works too. In my opinion the colours hide the sadness within the painting which is very similar to my kind of work also. In his work there are hints of aboriginal stylised dots.  I have also combined in my work a pointillist style also referring to cubism and the effects dots can create (do they have meaning? are they symbolic like aborigines art?)
